Casey and Amanda Weinstein are attempting to establish a political dynasty. Casey is already a State Senator and now his wife Amanda is running for Hudson Council. Now, that plan is threatened with voters recognizing Amanda Weinstein’s politicizing the Hudson Inclusive Playground (HIP). They are both having a public meltdown and are at odds with the truth and their own previous comments.
This isn’t the first time Amanda Weinstein has used the Hudson Inclusive Playground as a political weapon. Just a few weeks ago, she whipped up an online mob by falsely claiming the HIP was being stalled so council could “fast-track a shooting range.” Of course, a playground for differently abled children pulls at people’s heart strings. That’s why it’s the perfect weapon to attack her opponents on Council. She can lie about the situation then immediately say any criticism of her unethical behavior is a position against the Hudson Inclusive Playground.
Now, she’s ramped that up. But it doesn’t appear to be working this time as Hudson residents are souring to the Weinsteins’ divisive behavior. She was caught campaigning at a fundraiser for the HIP. Admission of coordination was inadvertantly admitted by the host of the event who put the candidates’ names on the invitation and allowed them to campaign and fundraise. Not only is Amanda Weinstein facing a public relations nightmare, but she’s also likely to need to retain her husband’s elections attorney for campaign finance issues stemming from this situation.
Amanda positioned HIP President Megan Higgins as the victim while Amanda faced criticism for turning the HIP fundraiser into a campaign event.
Since previous attempts to claim the HIP fundraiser was open to everyone and the other candidates were welcome to attend fell flat, Amanda is trying another approach to save the dream of the Weinstein Dynasty. Now, she acknowledges that only her slate of candidates was welcome to speak because they are the only candidates that are expected to fully support the playground. Amanda completely brushed off the fact that her opponents who are incumbents have always voted in favor of funding the playground.
Amanda also does a complete about face from the Hudson municipal races just two years ago. That year (2023), non-partisanship was highlighted by Amanda’s then slate of candidates. Now, Amanda is busting out the party affiliations in order to attempt to label her opponents.
There is a clear pattern of gaslighting coming from the Weinstein Duo. Casey who has helped dox constituents who oppose him, claimed calling out Amanda for her lies about council slowing down HIP to “fast-track a shooting range” is an “Amazing abuse of their constituents.”

Casey Weinstein is very aware of campaign finance laws and in-kind contributions. He was on the organizational emails for the Clocktower Collaborative. He also attended a fundraiser and donated $250. Less than three months ago, the Ohio Elections Commission ruled that the Hudson “non-profit” operated as an illegal PAC. The Commission regularly gives lower dollar fines to first time offenders and verbalized that they felt a high dollar amount wasn’t warranted since the illegal PAC had already disbanded. It appears that the lesson hasn’t been learned by the Weinsteins or they think campaign finance laws are beneath them.
The OEC released the names of the known Clocktower Collaborative donors which would have happened if the PAC had been formed legally. Councilman Skylar Sutton posted the names of those donors as the public has a right to know who broke campaign finance laws. Casey then whipped an internet mob against Sutton by rewriting the narrative and portraying the donors as victims. Sutton got flooded with calls and messages from Weinstein followers around the country.
Weinstein tripled down to fan the flames.
Many Hudson residents are noticing a pattern. Victimhood, gaslighting, and rewriting the truth isn’t giving anyone the warm and fuzzies.
The playground will be built, but Amanda will have a hard time using it as a central theme to her campaign after her latest political theatrics. From the standard Weinstein playbook, expect her to demonize her opponents or claim those opponents attempted a similar action before quickly pivoting to a new topic as Amanda’s misinformation effort fails.
