The City of Hudson hosted a Community Open House for the Comprehensive Plan for the next 10 years. While this was a Hudson City Government event, Democratic State Representative candidates Derrick Hall and Nathan Jarosz attended and used the event as a campaign stop.

Hall and Jarosz are two of the candidates squaring off in next month’s Democratic primary. Neither live in Hudson. Both of these candidates approached residents who were not there for a campaign event. As uncomfortable as that was for several people who emailed Clocktower Files to complain, Hall’s tactics were certainly more aggressive.

Shockingly, Derrick Hall added his campaign logo to the graphic of the City of Hudson’s invitation for the event.

Hudson Councilman Skylar Sutton challenged Hall on this unethical practice. In the Facebook conversation below, Hall put a political spin on his excuse and placed blame on one person.

Hall said he would work with his “designer to make this more obvious.” Hudson Councilwoman Nicole Kowalski is a graphic designer and also has endorsed Hall.

Kowalski should ensure her handpicked candidate doesn’t publish sloppy and unethical work from his designer that manipulates the City of Hudson official graphics. This should be of importance to Kowalski as this is her line of work and she also currently sits on Hudson City Council.

  1. Being endorsed by Kowalski is enough of a reason not to vote for Hall. He already has the spin down; NEVER take responsibility for your own actions. Get that “ victim card” out baby. We need leaders elected in 2024 he obviously is not one.
