Last night’s hearing for the Canterbury Meadows Development went exactly as planned. Current Council is rubber stamping this project despite it being denied by Planning Commission, BZBA, and the previous council.
While it has been denied this is not the case, public record proves otherwise.
Below is a public record of an email George Vizmeg, the Canterbury Meadows Developer, sent to a City of Hudson employee October 15, 2025. As Vizmeg details, he wanted Weinstein, Brezovec, and D’Eramo to win. Since he sent this to a City email account, it is public record.
George Vizmeg handed out the flyer that is pictured below to a reader who sent in the tip. This was verified with another resident who also received it. Vizmeg also donated to the campaigns of Amanda Weinstein, Samantha D’Eramo, and Kyle Brezovec.
Monday, September 14, 2026, The Planning Commission passed a vote of No Confidence in Hudson City Council. They also asked for their own attorney as the City’s Law Solicitor is conflicted out as he represents Council.
Amanda Weinstein told the Hudson Hub they are settling to avoid legal fees, but the City is likely to be sued by multiple residents over Council’s refusal to follow the City Charter. The City has already won against the developer in court and would be likely to win appeals. Instead, they are choosing a legal fight with residents and are siding with the donor who handed out fliers for them without a campaign disclosure.
Skylar Sutton, the lone independent voice on Council, has to recuse himself on this matter as his property borders the development. Since Sutton cannot speak on this matter as a member of Council, at last night’s hearing he spoke against it as a resident during public comments. Much more on that later.
