Kowalski SLAMS Mayor In These September 2023 Emails

Last week’s story about Hudson Councilwoman Nicole Kowalski’s emails to Mayor Jeff Anzevino allowed residents a window into how the she treats her colleagues. But, more emails from another public records request open that window a little wider. These emails are from months prior.

Kowalski took to social media to blame everyone but herself for her Eclipse Shirt emails. While Mayor Anzevino remained gracious in his words, she repeatedly attacked him on his own Facebook page (click here for that) and even was combative with some residents.

Emails between Kowalski and Anzevino from last September show that this is not new behavior from the At Large Councilwomen. Given that these are City emails, they are readily available through a public records request.

In the first email, Anzevino informs Kowalski that he had done some legwork researching snowplow service for senior citizens. Typical of the Mayor, he was both cordial and informative in the September 13, 2023 email below.

Kowalski, who is currently suing the City of Hudson, did not extend that grace back to Mayor Anzevino in her reply. She attempted to put him in his place by reminding him his role is strictly “ceremonial.” She then attempted to recap a conversation she had with the Mayor the evening before.

Nicole Kowalski took exception to the Mayor using the word “martyr” in their discussion. She felt the beloved Mayor was threatening her by using the word. The Councilwoman who has spent time in the last week on social media blaming others for public records requests of her emails mentioned the purpose of the email was to create a public record of it so she could use it against Mayor Anzevino at a later time.
